SUMMARY:How I Built My Business One Fear at a Time Mar. 2
DESCRIPTION:A New time for John's presentation ... (originally scheduled for Feb./17)\n\n\n\nThis Lunch ' Learn presentation is for anyone who tried to start something or one day plans to. It takes courage\, a massive sense of humour\, courage\, belief in yourself\, courage and most of all...courage (a network of good people and self discipline is essential as well) . Come hear John talk about his bumpy road to success. Psst...he hasn't arrived yet....\n\n\n\nJohn Close spent 15 years growing teenagers on the prairies before opting in for the more challenging job of growing lawns on Vancouver Island. In 2009\, with no prior experience in business or landscaping\, John bootstrapped like a maniac and eventually started Lush (not the soap company\, sorry). Along the way John has brewed some nasty plant bacteria in his bathtub\, watched wheelbarrows fly out of his truck on the Malahat\, won multiple awards (not for that) and last year was named a Top 20 under 40 for Vancouver Island. His career highlight was turning Fernwood into a Hallmark Christmas for a movie filmed there during last July's heat wave. Lush has 3 locations and 10 employees that serve happy customers from Parksville to Victoria. They're known for their great service\, professionalism and their popular chemical free lawn and garden maintenance programs.\n\n \nLunch 'n Learns are casual bring-your-own-lunch sessions.
