Do you want to learn essential strategies and best practices for you and your board? This five hour governance workshop delivers clear teaching on the components of governance and how to monitor key components to make organizations efficient and relevant. \n\nDuring the workshop\, attendees will learn:\n\n\n	the framework principles of governing\;\n	the seven components of governance\;\n	roles and responsibilities of the board and senior staff\;\n	running effective board meetings\;\n	terms of reference for board and committees\;\n	monitoring all governance components\;\n	succession planning\;\n	practical templates to ensure that what they learn will be easily adopted.\n\n\n\nWorkshop Leader & Governance Trainer Deb McLelland\n\n\n\nDeb McLelland has served on many boards over the past 35 years. She has studied board governance for more than 15 years and has become the go-to person for chambers throughout BC on matters of Board Governance. Her lively presentations are suited for any organization that wants to learn about and apply best practices in governance.\n\n\n\nDeb began her career at the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce in 1999. During her time at the chamber\, Deb has overseen her board's change to the policy governance model and created templates that assist boards to transition in a practical and efficient way.\n\nDeb completed four years on the board of directors for the BC Chamber of Commerce and is a Past President of the BC Chamber Executives board. She is currently serving as Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Canada\, as well on several local boards and committees.\n\nDeb's passion is governance\, and she enjoys teaching and mentoring Boards.
