The Cowichan Valley Bluegrass Festival is an all-ages family-friendly festival showcasing the best in bluegrass and old-time music.
Although 2019 was our inaugural festival at Laketown Ranch, we have been around for many years at our former site in Sooke, BC, which we outgrew after 16 successful festivals. The organization and structure of the festival remains the same. The Cowichan Valley Bluegrass Festival is new to the region, but has deep roots and a rich history.
Our 2019 program featured three-time Grammy nominee Claire Lynch and two familiar bands from previous festivals – the Slocan Ramblers and The Lonely Heartstring Band. We also featured local favourites The Sweet Lowdown, Clover Point Drifters, Nomad Jones, Jenny Lester, the High Quadra Ramblers and Genevieve and the Wild Sundays, along with old-time performers The Evans Family and Adam Iredale-Gray.
We have a strong partnership with the Victoria Bluegrass Association and are committed to keeping our core audience engaged. We hope you'll join us June 19-21, 2020 for your annual Cowichan Valley Bluegrass and Old-Time experience.
