We are buzzing at Merridale in anticipation for Friday, September 23rd, 2016. Join us to celebrate and learn about one of the most important species in our ecosystem: bees! The afternoon event starts at 4:00 pm in the farmhouse store with over 30 juried local artists’ work featuring this amazing insect. Mingle with the artists while sipping on cocktails, a glass of Cyser made from honey at the farm, or enjoy small plates created by the Merridale kitchen. At 5:30, settle into the ciderhouse for an informative talk by the “Bee Guru,” Ted Leischner and hear what Merridale does to create a healthy environment for the bees on our farm. By the way…did you know Merridale brings in one million bees every spring? They are busy pollinating the apple trees all throughout spring and summer to make that wonderful cider we all love! Lucky for us to have so many helpful tenants. The art show and talk are free but registration is essential – food and drinks are extra.
