Walk of the Nations is an opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate the rich diversity of the Cowichan Region. The event features a symbolic walk of Understanding, Acceptance, Respect and Compassion through downtown Duncan and following the walk - a community celebration with food, cultural performances and musical entertainment. May 31st, Wear Cultural & Traditional ClothingBring flags, signs and banners 9:30 arrival at VIU / 10:00am walk beginsFestivities from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at Centennial Park This year we will unite together to walk then celebrate together with food, cultural entertainment and interactive activity booths in Centennial Park. Cowichan Community Kitchens will be cooking up delicious pizzas's in their Cob Oven, there will be a fry bread cook, a big pot of hot dogs and delicious local salads. So far our entertainment line up includes Celtic Music, youth musicians, traditional singers, dancers interactive activity booths and more!! The Walk of the Nations has become a legacy, an annual celebration, and a re-commitment to the new levels of understanding respect and compassion we have come to see here in the Cowichan Valley during the 2008 North American Indigenous Games.
