SOUL KING is a Sam Cooke concert tribute that contributes significant benefits to our community, and we are inviting you to participate in this show at the Cowichan Centre for the Performing Arts on September 29th at 2PM. Tickets available for show on line at www.cowichanpac.ca. Written and directed by Michael Clarke of 'Rock Legends' & 'Kim's Convenience' (Chemainus Theatre), this unique production depicts the life and music of Sam Cooke, commonly referred to as “The King of Soul”. The first four shows were performed at the Osborne Bay Pub and the response was overwhelming. Consequently, by ‘popular demand’, four additional shows were performed and played with passion to packed houses. For the Duncan production, lead singer and storyteller Michael Clarke will again be joined by the “Crofton Songbird” Glaucia Desroches, acclaimed for her interpretations of blues legend Billie Holiday. The back-up musicians are consummate professionals, well known and respected throughout the industry. While 'Soul King' has its roots in the Cowichan Valley, its potential is unlimited.Irish Rover "Will Millar" said the "SHOW IS MAGIC" .
