oneTree Wild Workshop by Live Edge

oneTree Wild Workshop No experience necessary! We're applying our oneTree concept to a wild weekend workshop in the woods. Net proceeds to the Robert Bateman Centre & Live Edge Design oneTree 2017 exhibit and the Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre. Learn how to make beautiful rustic garden furniture and structures while collaborating in a project to see how many things can be made from a single cedar tree that blew down in our community forest (Donated by North Cowichan). Choose from a bench, trellis, gate, chair or planter box that you build under the direction of a trained woodworker- and take your creation home with you for your own back yard! To get even more value out of oneTree and to offer something to the wooden boat enthusiasts The Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre will be offering two workshops; a cradle boat and a first nations style dug out canoe. We will contact you once you have registered to confirm which item you would like to build during this two day workshop. We will mill the tree trunk into planks and use the limbs of the tree as poles, making use of as much of the tree as possible. Build your knowledge of trees and woodworking while enjoying the camaraderie of this oneTree experience. You will be able to camp (tent only) or drive in daily to participate. This workshop will take place in the middle of a riverside, wooded forest in the heart of Cowichan Valley, British Columbia. All tools will be provided. Scrapes, bruises, callouses and sore muscles are likely. Adventure, new friends and feeling of achievement guaranteed. Saturday 26th August - Sunday August 27th. (9am start and will likely wrap up by 5pm Sunday). Ticket price of $375 is per person (children under 12, $50, children 12 - 16, $100). Includes materials, instructors, Saturday dinner and camping fees. The total in this store includes 5% GST. Other than Saturday dinner, all other meals will need to be bought from home (there are outdoor cooking facilities) or purchased from a participating food truck. There will be a children's workshop available or they can assist in a parent's project.
