How much sleep do you need? Do you snore? Are you tired all the time? Has anyone ever told you that you stop breathing when you are sleeping?
Sleep is essential for a person’s wellbeing yet millions of people do not get enough sleep or suffer from a lack of sleep caused by their own habits or a sleep disorder. Sleep deprivation can be self-imposed by factors such as Economic and Societal pressures which force us to work longer hours and access to technology allows us to stay busy around the clock . There are over 80 sleep disorders that can affect our sleep which in turn can affect our overall health and well-being. One such disorder is Obstructive Sleep Apnea and is estimated to be present in 1 out of 4 adults with associated risk factors. Obstructive Sleep Apnea is becoming more and more prevalent in our society and if left untreated can be contribute to serious medical conditions.
