Diversity Awareness is a participatory workshop about understanding cultural differences at work. The sessions covers cultural fluency in general, and as it applies to customer service and hiring.
The Cowichan Valley is home to newcomers from around the world - Syria, Germany, South Africa, Cuba, Argentina, the Netherlands, Vietnam, China, India, the Philippines, and the United States. The community is building skills, knowledge, and capacity to welcome people from diverse cultures. The more we learn about connecting with one other’s identity, without giving up or giving in, the more inclusive our community becomes.
This session is facilitated by:
- Jennifer Yee Fairweather of the Cowichan Intercultural Society
- Dr. Linda D. Hill of the Inclusive Leadership Cooperative
This is a participatory workshop about understanding differences with respect and appreciation.
