David Greenfield | A.Spire By Nature, Malahat Skywalk | Speaker Series Luncheon

David Greenfield, Principal with A.Spire By Nature, will be presenting on the Malahat Skywalk, an exciting nature based attraction on southern Vancouver Island. David will speak to the principals behind a successful nature based attraction, drawing on a case study of the Sea to Sky Gondola, and will also touch on some of the impacts on the region during the construction phase and once the attraction is operational.
This session is part of the Small Business BIG DAY symposium presented in partnership with Scotiabank. About David Greenfield: Prior to A.Spire by Nature, David was the Executive Vice President with Intrawest Placemaking – one of the world’s leading experts in resort village creation. He was responsible for all of the division’s real estate development activity in Western North America, including Mexico, Hawaii, and the Pacific Rim. David began with Intrawest Corporation in 1987. He was one of the original resort development employees for the company and was instrumental in helping Whistler Blackcomb to become one of the most celebrated mountain resorts in the world. David was also directly responsible for planning, revitalizing and creating the resort village and real estate development at Mont Tremblant, Quebec. This resort rapidly became one of the most successful new resorts in North America and continues to be one of the top travel destinations in Quebec. David has a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Alberta and a Master’s of Science degree in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia. He lives in Whistler, BC.
