Joins us for a micro wine tour starting with Rocky Creek Winery - this family run operations boasts dozens of awards including multiple recognition for their Wild Blackberry. Rocky Creek was Canada's first home-based winery before expanding to their current 10 acre estate.
Then we'll go a little south and a little west to Blue Grouse Estate Winery & Vineyard. Initially the site tested more than 130 types of grape vines for their viability on Vancouver Island. The Brunner family purchased Blue Grouse in 2012 - their Blue Grouse Estate wines use exclusively grapes from their own vineyards while their Quill wines other "best-of" BC grown grapes.
Our last stop is Venturi Shulze Vineyards where members will enjoy a tour, wine tasting and we'll sample Venturi Shulze's famous and very special Balsamic Vinegar. The Venturi Shulze vineyard was founded in 1988 and is "beyond organic" - grown with eco-friendly, pesticide-free, certified methods - some pioneered by the owners themselves.
That's a fair bit of travelling, so we asked Cheers Cowichan Tours take of the driving for this "micro" winery tour. There are 17 seats on the bus ... available on a first come, first served basis. We meet a the Visitor Centre at 10:30 am and the bus leaves promptly at 10:40 am. Contact the office to reserve your spot on the bus!
