  • 31st Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

    Cowichan Hospice and Cowichan District Hospital are collaborating once again in the 31st Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in honour of those who have died. On Wednesday, December 1, at 6pm, the virtual ceremony will broadcast on the Cowichan Hospice Facebook page. Participants will be invited to light a candle and post the names, photos and/or remembrances of those they are honouring in the comments section of the video. Speakers include Qwiahwultuhw (Elder Robert George), who will offer opening and closing prayers, and Sarah Smith. Lambert Joseph will light the first candle. Music will be performed by songstress Cari Burdett, and the Queen Margaret's School orchestra, under the direction of Alison Hounsome. To join, simply go to Facebook.com/CowichanHospice at 6 pm on December 1. The recording will be available on Facebook for those who are not able to view on December 1.
