The Chamber welcomes Sino cross cultural expert and educator Dr. Ed Nicholson to present at the Jan. 16 luncheon. Research predicts great leaps in the number and nature of Chinese tourists coming to our region. And Canadian businesses want to learn more about business practices in China.
Dr. Nicholson has conducted a number of Corporate Training Seminars in Canada and the United States on many topics including " Doing Business with China in the 21st Century". From 2001 to 2009, Ed and his wife, Isla, worked in the People's Republic of China on a teacher training program based on student centered education. Ed is now semi-retired and living in Ladysmith, where he is actively involved in Rotary and the local historical society. Ed continues to spend about 6 weeks a year in China as an advisor to the National Government Committee on the Restructuring of Post Secondary English Teaching.
