DESCRIPTION:Cowichan Valley Arts Council is delighted to present you "Val Konig Retrospective\," an art show of the collection of Val Konig's work ranging from 1964   2017. Val Konig is well-known on the Salt Spring Island art scene\, teaching watercolour and acrylics year-round in her home studio. Her love of flowers and gardening is evidenced in her floral paintings. "For many years I have focussed on light and its effect on the subject. Back-lighting and cast shadows are particularly exciting for me. Since light (or its absence) can affect us all very powerfully\, it will always be a major consideration in my paintings."
