SUMMARY:Storytelling for Media | Lockrey Communications
DESCRIPTION:We all love to hear a good story. Stories are key to making a personal connection and engaging an audience. This session focuses on how to use storytelling to gain media coverage and engage your audience on social media. Cynthia will share some tools and techniques to help you get clear on your audience and tailor your story to best connect with them. You'll look at the traditional and social media landscape\, discussing different ways to share your story. Finally\, you'll work through some of common challenges with using social media (selling not educating\, lack of one voice\, multiple people posting\, boring posts). You will gain the knowledge and confidence to share your stories and be heard!\n\n\n\nThis session is part of For the Love of Nonprofits\, a one-day professional development and networking symposium. You can register for this session\, and other sessions\, individually or you can purchase a FULL DAY PASS and save! \n\n\n\nABOUT CYNTHIA LOCKREY: Cynthia is storyteller and motivator. She is passionate about helping people find their voice so they can share their knowledge and stories\, and BE HEARD! Having started her career as a journalist and newspaper editor\, Cynthia has read hundreds of press releases\, listened to countless pitches and attended way too many press conferences drinking coffee out of Styrofoam cups. Along the way\, she began taking note of the elements that make up a good story\, and where the story got lost in the telling both proactive and reactive situations.
